Students from DPS tackled Muswellbrook South Public School (MSPS) on the school oval and displayed great sportsmanship in the warm conditions.
The host team amassed 9-130 after 25 overs, before dismissing MSPS for 50.
Player of day was Darcy Wallace, who scored 32 runs and took a great catch on his birthday.
Notable mentions also go to Rylan Gray, who scored 21 and captured two wickets, and Blake Scott, being the youngest and the smallest of the team who completely ripped the middle stump out of the ground for the last scalp.
Denman Public School now advances to the next round, which will be played against Muswellbrook Public School.
“Well done to the team for a great effort and thanks to the coach, Mr Garner,” DPS principal Megan Druitt said.
