The program aims to ensure all junior cricket clubs have access to the latest safety equipment, encouraging the youth of NSW to lead a safe and active lifestyle.
Muswellbrook Junior Cricket received a number of the newest Masuri cricket helmets, featuring the latest stemguard protection.
Facilitated by McDonald’s and Cricket NSW, the helmets have been bought to share with the state’s junior cricket clubs throughout metro and regional NSW.
With new helmet standards being introduced countrywide in the 2019-20 season, the equipment provided by Cricket NSW and McDonald’s will assist orgainsations like this with the transition by relieving some of the financial burden associated with the evolution.
“We are proud to be supporting the local community and provide local teams with helmets to encourage a safe and active lifestyle,” Scone McDonald’s owner/operator Daniel Zammit said.
“We hope to see great things from Upper Hunter cricket in their upcoming season and we’ll be cheering them on the whole way.”
Cricket NSW CEO Andrew Jones said the organisation was proud to be partnering on this initiative with McDonald’s, who has been a long-term supporter of developing cricket in the state.
“Cricket is a sport for all and we are committed to making it as safe as it is fun for every girl and boy in NSW,” he said.
“This partnership with McDonald’s means that all junior clubs right across the state have the opportunity for their teams to play with the latest in helmet technology.”
