Live Traffic NSW states the incident occurred on the New England Highway, near the Hunter Expressway, about 2pm.
It is unknown how many people are injured at this stage.
Paramedics, police and Roads and Maritime Services (RMS) personnel are all in attendance.
It is advised that motorists take care near the area, especially after the recent heavy rain.
