First up, the group, which was established in 2006, is hoping to entice more locals to join the fray.
The club will host its annual general meeting at the Royal Hotel, Scone, on Tuesday, January 24, from 6.30pm.
And, it’s an open invitation, according to Annette Rahn.
“The Scone Showjumping Club is a friendly, relaxed group of people, both young and old,” she said.
“Last year, we boasted about 70 members.
“They travel to Tamworth, Quirindi, Sydney, Gunnedah, Singleton and Muswellbrook, as well as the agricultural shows which have showjumping.
“Many of them also take part in one day eventing – and use our training days for schooling.”
Ms Rahn said the training days were conducted once a month, weather and helpers permitting.
“Starting heights are from 45cm to 1.30m or more,” she explained.
“We promote having fun and enjoyment on our training days while being able to educate both horse and rider.
“There is also an annual competition, which we hope to make a major event on the jumping calendar that people want to attend.
“We’re only a small committee, but we’re dedicated.
“However, we would like to encourage more helpers, and participants, to make the Scone Showjumping Club bigger and better in 2017.
“We also have a web page and Facebook page.”
