A new 21-seat Toyota Coaster, which will be used for general community transport between Scone, Murrurundi, Muswellbrook, Denman and Merriwa, has been named ‘The Bob Moore Bus’.

TransCare CEO Alan Gordon said it recognised Mr Moore’s lengthy service to both the organisation and community in his role as Community Transport Supervisor.

Mr Gordon added it was the first new bus that TransCare had purchased in the last few years and believed it was fitting to name it after Mr Moore.

Mr Moore retired from his role in January 2015 after serving more than 10 years with TransCare and moved to Forster with his wife Vicki to live in their unit by the water.

He represented TransCare at state conferences and was nominated as Employee of the Year for NSW for his services to Community Transport back in 2012.

During his time with TransCare, he was held in very high esteem by the board, fellow staff members, volunteers, and particularly with TransCare’s regular clients.

His colleagues in other regions were also disappointed he retired when he did but Mr Moore’s attitude was that he needed to step aside to allow the younger ones into the workforce.

He stated that he also wanted to get among the fish in the great lakes area and consequently purchased a small boat to do just that.
