Diesel poured from the Isuzu tipper truck along a 14-kilometre stretch of the highway on Thursday, resulting in an accident approximately 400 metres north from the Segenhoe Rd turnoff near Aberdeen.

At about 9.15am, the Toyota Camry sedan lost traction with the roadway on a bend known as Halcombe Hill, sliding to the left and colliding with the armco guard rail. 

The impact caused significant damage to the front of the vehicle. 

Following the initial collision, approximately 50-100 metres behind, a grey Holden Captiva also lost traction with the roadway, with the driver braking in an effort to regain control of her vehicle. 

At the same time, a silver Toyota Prado attempted to stop his vehicle after losing control but collided with the rear nearside of the Captiva, resulting in minor damage to both cars.

Completely unaware of the spill and subsequent carnage left behind, the driver of the truck eventually ran out of diesel at the outskirts of Muswellbrook, stopping near the Hunter Belle Cheese factory.

Police attended the scene and summoned the RMS and fire brigade to initiate traffic controls and road cleaning measures. 

A total of four street sweeper vehicles attended the scene and spent a considerable time cleaning up the diesel from the roadway.

No-one was injured from the collisions.

DIRT bikes and a two-way radio have been stolen in separate incidents over the weekend.

Thieves accessed an enclosed compound to a workshop at Lake Glenbawn Caravan Park between 3.30pm on Friday and 6.45am on Monday.

After opening a closed but unlocked ground floor, the offenders entered a staff room at the rear of the workshop.

Once inside, staff lockers were rifled through before a two-way radio was taken.

No entry was made into the main workshop.

The culprits then opened a closed but unlocked front door to a white Ford Econvan and rummaged through the interior.

An ashtray was pulled out and left on the seat, with an access card to the boom gates of the caravan park stolen.

Then, in a separate incident, thieves stole two unregistered dirt bikes between 7.30pm on Friday and 8.45am on Saturday.

The white and blue 2015 model Huskvana and green KX450 model Kawasaki had been left inside a stable in the grounds of Scone racetrack on Bunnan Road.
