The growing success of the Aberdeen Highland Games proved beneficial for the upcoming Muswellbrook Relay for Life.
After the Aberdeen event on July 2, the committee decided to donate $250 to the overall tally for the relay, in support of the Cancer Council.
Muswellbrook Relay for Life chairperson Taya Elphinstone said fundraising efforts for the September event had been successful this year.
On Friday, the money raising fun will continue with the individuals and businesses encouraged to paint the town for purple day.
That night, the purple activities will continue at the Railway Hotel, from 6pm.
All are invited to attend and join in the fundraising excitement.
The night will include entertainment by Carot Bowen, sausage sizzles and steak sandwiches, 100 club, raffles, games and merchandise.
For those who love to dress up, there will be prizes for best dressed.
The 2016 Muswellbrook Relay for Life will be at Weeraman Fields, Muswellbrook, on September 24 and 25.
