Muswellbrook, Scone, Merriwa, Murrurundi, Denman, Singleton, Paterson, Vacy and the Aberdeen/Rouchel club were among the organisations represented.
The day was organised by Country Zone 5 representative Susanna O’Brien, with the various branch presidents participating in the progress of the program.
Muswellbrook Shire mayor Martin Rush carried out the official opening.
The guest speaker was Margaret Kiehne, of Glenn Innes, representing the Red Cross NSW Advisory Board.
Her talk focused on the NSW Drought Appeal.
Everyone in attendance learned so much of all that Red Cross has done to help ease the burdens beset upon the farmers and others through the recent years of drought in the western part of the state.
The afternoon session was conducted in the form of a workshop by Red Cross northern manager Janelle Cazaubon – who looked ahead to 2020 with the needs of Red Cross.
The day finished with the cutting of a 90th birthday cake celebration by the Paterson branch.
