The Wanaruah NAIDOC committee invited the community to attend their event at Muswellbrook Indoor Sports Centre.
Following the success of the NAIDOC celebrations, the committee is anticipating it will be the first of many.
“We are hoping to have at least four of these events a year,” committee member Kate Wood Pahuru said.
The committee has organised family fun days in the past, but decided to do something different this year.
Some of the activities on offer included a corroboree, fire making, bush food sessions, humpy making, weaving and story time.
