UPPER Hunter schools have again underlined the region’s pedigree by winning grand finals at the Knights Knockout competition on Tuesday.

Scone Public School took out the 10 years A title with an 18-10 win over Singleton’s King Street Public School.
The 10 years B division was claimed by Denman Public School, which defeated Branxton Public School 12-10.
St Mary’s Primary School, Scone, continued the streak with a 22-10 triumph over Aberdeen Public School in the Open B division, while St Joseph’s Aberdeen proved too strong for St Peter’s Maitland in the under-14s, winning 24-14.
St Joseph’s also came away with the under-16s crown, comfortably beating St Mary’s Gateshead 32-4.
The annual Knights Knockout grand finals took place at Hunter Stadium, with hundreds of local school children taking the field to compete in the annual rugby league competition.
Throughout grand final day, a number of Newcastle Knights were on hand to meet the young players at presentations after each match.
Winning sides from the Knights Knockout have progressed to the State Knockout, which will be played in the Penrith district across various locations.
The primary matches are set for August 1, and the secondary games will be played the following day.
