There is something for everyone at the July St Joseph’s Merriwa Parents and Friends Junior Campdraft and Fete – all you need to do is come on down.
This is the fifth year the school has put their heads and hearts together to create what has become a “must do” draft in many a junior drafter’s calendar and “must eat” treat feast for many a local food lover.
St Joseph’s Merriwa Parents and Friends Junior Campdraft and Fete coordinator Peter Holland said he was amazed at the level of support the school had received once more from the community.
“Many parents and grandparents have been busy preparing sweet treats, preserves, craft items and collecting books to sell for weeks,” he said.
“We have some amazing cooks that really put in a lot of time and effort to ensure all the produce looks and tastes amazing.
“The non-horsie kids love the games and hobby horse races, while the horsie kids are out on the arena vying for top spots in the draft and sporting events.
“It’s a real community event and reflection of Merriwa, many of the local businesses sponsor or provide prizes and several farmers help with cattle, freight or feed.
“It’s good for our school, and great for our town, and I just hope lots of people come and enjoy themselves.”
The St Joseph’s Merriwa Parents and Friends Junior Campdraft and Fete is on Saturday, July 2, from 8.30am to 4pm with free entry to the Merriwa Showground.
