And, there will be a significant display of power when the Tartan Warriors take the stage on Saturday, at 10.30am and 2.30pm.
The annual event will welcome back the athletes who compete in a traditional Celtic strongman competition.
The competition consists of three events – stones, sheaf and caber toss.
Stones, or Clach Cuid Fir, is a traditional strength test.
Competitors see who can lift five stones of increasing weights – between 100 and 165 kilograms – off the ground and onto barrels.
The sheaf toss is a traditional Scottish agricultural sport.
Athletes use a pitchfork to throw a burlap bag stuffed with straw over a horizontal bar .
In the caber toss, a large wooden pole is thrown with the aim of making a perfect landing.
A caber is usually around 5.94m long, weighing 79kg.
“Strength is always something people like to see,” Aberdeen Highland Games presidents Charles Cooke said.
The Tartan Warriors are known for drawing a crowd at the annual event, but there will be many other things happening to keep everyone entertained.
The fun will be at Jefferson Park, Aberdeen, from 9am to 4pm.
The day begins with a parade and the Chieftain's address to officially open the event.
There will be highland and country dancing, pipe band displays, tug-of-war, three-legged races, and the kilted dash
