Experience off road racing at its best, only 26km from Singleton.
This year’s event will take place on Saturday and Sunday, July 2 and 3 – and celebrate the 30th anniversary of the local action-packed spectacular.
Hosted by the Hunter Valley Off Road Racing Association (HVORRA), the Hedweld Milbrodale Mountain Classic also incorporates round four of the NSW Off Road Championship, the opening leg of the Premier NSW Long Course Championship and the second series of the East Coast Tri Challenge.
Organisers are expecting a large field of entrants to see who can win the very sought-after award, Man of the Mountain.
July 2 features the running of the prologue and race one of the medium course (four laps).
With drivers full of adrenaline and machines race-ready, there should be no shortage of spectator advantage and excitement.
Day two will see the final heats, including race four (six laps of the long course – 20km), with the main feature after lunch.
The Milbrodale venue offers a great spectator area, ensuring some spectacular action for all those wishing to enjoy the racing.
Fans also have a chance to get close to the cars and talk to the competitors when the pits are open to the public during the lunch break.
Another bonus in 2016 are appearances from past racers, including a couple of V8 Supercar drivers who have previously competed in the event.
Food and drinks are available track side, while there will be activities for the children from jumping castles to amusement rides, too.
The organisers acknowledge the Hedweld Milbrodale Mountain Classic would not be possible without the support of sponsors, Hedweld Group of Companies (platinum); Bulga Open Cut Glencore, Promine Contracting and Lancaster Motor Group (gold); Myne Signs (silver); Southern Cross Austereo and The Newcastle Herald (media partners).
As always, the event is generously supported by local residents with the Bulga Community Centre, Bulga Bush Fire Brigade and Milbrodale Public School all assisting while benefiting from the extravaganza.
During the weekend, the classic raises money for very worthy causes, Witmore Enterprises, CanTeen and Simply Loving Taylor Inc.
Daily gate entry is $10 while children under-12 are free.
