The final score saw Singleton prevail to the tune of 34.14.218 to 1.0.6.
Led by a superb 13 goals from spearhead Travis Bates, the Roosters simply overwhelmed their Killarney Vale opponents from the first bounce to the final siren, keeping Cardiff to a solitary major in an excellent defensive performance.
A 12-goal last quarter was the cap to a very convincing Singleton display, keeping them unbeaten and increasing their already impressive early season percentage.
For the Roosters, Bates’ 13 goals gives him 32 after four games, with Samuel Brasington (5), Alex Mitchell, Cameron White, Paul Chandler and Digby Short also multiple goalkickers on the day.
Singleton continues to make Rose Point Park a fortress and will be targeting a top three finish at the end of the home and away season.
The Roosters’ best players were Mitchell, Bates, Chris Collier, Thomas Gerard, Mark Roser and Brasington.
In second division, Singleton produced a convincing four-quarter performance against Killarney Vale, kicking five goals in the final quarter to run away from the Bombers, with the final scores being 13.13.91 to 6.6.42.
The Roosters’ goalkickers were led by Hugh Smith (5), Chris Faulder and Peter Kolatchew with two each.
Singleton was best served by Robert Field, Dale Cox, Hugh, Nathan and Conrad Smith and Matthew Tull.
The women’s team had the bye on Saturday.
This weekend, the Roosters are on the road when they travel to the Central Coast to take on Wyong Lakes in all three grades.
Meanwhile, the Muswellbrook Cats continued their excellent early season form in the Black Diamond AFL second division competition on Saturday.
Muswellbrook returned home with an impressive 44-point victory under its belt over league heavyweights Newcastle City at Newcastle No.1 Sportsground.
After scores were level at quarter time, the Cats kicked six goals to none in the second quarter, eventually running out victors 12.7.79 to 4.11.35.
For Muswellbrook, Jackson Bower led all goalkickers with five majors, ably supported by Adam Higham with two.
The Cats’ best players in the 44-point win were Higham, Beau Harris, Ben Sawkins, Jon Williams, Owen Den Hey and Jake Parker.
Muswellbrook is now four from four in the 2016 season, leading the second division ladder with a healthy 408.13 percentage.
The Cats have the bye this weekend.
But, Muswellbrook’s next fixture is away to Warners Bay on Saturday, May 14.
