PAT Farrell did not have much of an opinion of Flaming Commodity when she first entered his stable and had even less when Greg Ryan rode her in a trial suggested she be taken to the picnics.

On Friday at Muswellbrook, Flaming Commodity won her second race from her eighth start and ran a class record in winning the Two Rivers Wines Class One (1500m).
And, Farrell has admitted he’s gladly changed his opinion of the daughter of Stratum.
“She was pretty ordinary when she first arrived at our place but she has got better with time and with racing,” Farrell said.
“She has now won two and next preparation I think she will be a nice filly.
“She was a three-year-old filly racing against older horses in this race makes it a pretty good effort.”
The win gave Ryan three winners for the day.
He settled Flaming Commodity mid field, gained a split at the top of the straight but it took almost the length of the straight for her to grab the lead from Dylan’s Romance and win by a neck.
“There was a good rolling pace which helped her but she has no sprint, she is a grinder,” Ryan said.
