The latest, which started in Lane Poole Reserve on Wednesday morning, has seen local residents once again flee for safety and spend a sleepless night waiting on updates from Department of Fire and Emergency Services (DFES).
The fast moving blaze has destroyed a vineyard, fences and sheds, but no loss of life has been reported.
Waroona resident Chris Dunlop, who lives on Riley Road, said they were lucky not to lose their home.
“The fire stopped about 100 metres short of the house,” he said.
“The neighbour lost his sheds though.
“The wind started blowing really hard so embers [from a fire burning on the opposite side of Waroona] started fires all over the place.”
Mr Dunlop said a Department of Fire and Emergency truck did a drive by of the street but residents were left to defend their own homes.
“We are just putting out burning logs this morning,” he said.
Waroona was last put on emergency footing due to a fire in January 2015.
Before that, a March 2014 blaze threatened lives and property.
The latest emergency is threatening the Waroona townsite and Preston Beach community.
