An Anglo American spokesperson has confirmed their employees were briefed on the Planning and Assessment Commission (PAC) recommendation in regard to the Drayton South Project on Friday morning, and due to the devastating news they received, were sent home from work.

And they will not be required to return to the Drayton open-cut mine until Monday.
The existing Drayton Coal Mine is located 13km south west of Muswellbrook.
Drayton workers sent home
The company feels they need time to deal with the news that they no longer have a job as the company's third attempt at getting the Drayton South Project approved was knocked back.
