A spokesman for NSW Police Media said seven vehicles attended the scene, including General Duties, Forensic Services Group (FSG) and Highway Patrol, after a man was allegedly wielding a shotgun.
“We can confirm there was an armed robbery at our branch in Scone earlier today,” a spokesman from ANZ bank told the Scone Advocate.
“The branch will be closed for the rest of the day while police investigate and we will make a decision later today about when the branch will reopen next week.
“Our primary concern is providing the support necessary to our staff and customers and will be making sure they have access to counselling services.
“It's too early to go into specific details about the robbery and any questions about the investigation should be directed to the police.”
