Residents are advised to put eligible waste on the kerbside on the weekend of October 24 and 25 for collection the following week.
Bundled green waste, broken chairs, old carpet and ageing garden furniture are examples of items Upper Hunter Shire Council will accept for collection.
Items that will not be collected include:
- car parts, batteries and tyres;
- hazardous materials;
- fridges, freezers and air conditioners;
- old televisions, computers or kitchen appliances;
- gas bottles;
- builders' rubble;
- asbestos;
- electronics;
- objects weighing more than 20kg;
- recyclables; and
- loads that are too big to fit in a box trailer.
Waste must be stacked neatly on the kerbside before 6.30am on Monday, October 26 or it will not be collected.
More than 130 cubic metres of compacted rubbish was collected in the Upper Hunter local government area from last year's kerbside collection.
