The Bill Rose Complex was packed with teams from the under-6s to under-14s, playing solid games of rugby on August 2.
The Scone Under-10 Blue team drew Tamworth 1, Gunnedah and Quirindi, and kicked off the day with a solid victory over a big Tamworth team.
The Blue side had a physical game against Gunnedah, however Scone was rewarded with a narrow victory due to strong defence.
Scone recorded a convincing win in the final game against Quirindi with solid work from Crowther,
Charlie Richardson, Max Patterson and Angus Beard. Scone under-10s Yellow took on Gunnedah and were pumped to perform on their home ground.
Game two against Tamworth saw the boys primed, running the bigger Tamworth boys around and maintaining plenty of possession.
The end result was 6-1 to Scone. Game three against the second Tamworth side, the Scone team put on some amazing running rugby.
The boys finished the day off nicely with a 9-1 victory. The Scone under-8s fielded three teams against Gunnedah, Quirindi and Tamworth.
Scone 1 had three hard-fought matches.
The first two games against Tamworth and Gunnedah were a little one-sided with the opposition size being too much for the young Scone side. Scone 2 started with a solid win against Quirindi.
The last game of the day was the local derby grudge match with Scone 2 vs Scone 3. The under-6’s had a ball at the gala day, continuing to learn the vital skills and then putting them into practice with a round robin of games.
