Bengalla Mining Company, Muswellbrook Rams Rugby League Club and Muswellbrook Race Club are all involved in one of the biggest events on the local racing calendar.
Muswellbrook Race Club general manager Duane Dowell said it was a fine example of three key groups in the town working together.
The race day aims to support the junior Rams and the club’s publicity officer Michelle Williams said she hoped there would be a strong turnout.
“It’s not just a football thing, it’s about the community,” she said.
“You don’t have to be a football player or racing enthusiast to be here so just come on down and be exposed to the wonderful venue and facilities that we have in Muswellbrook.
“We’ve invited Scone, Aberdeen and all the neighbouring rugby league clubs because, although we work with them and help them, we also support them.
“As a club we’ve just very grateful to be involved in the day.”
Former NRL stars Brett Kimmorley and Steve Turner will be attending the day, while a number of activities are on offer to keep everyone entertained.
They include free jumping castles, a petty zoo, face painting, league activities and music at the Skellatar Park Racecourse.
A free sausage is also available to the first 500 people through the gates, which open at 11.30am on Sunday.
The feature race is the $25,000 Bengalla Cup 1280m.
