Muswellbrook and Denman’s planting sites each had 2000 trees to plant on the weekend, and volunteers also built on the work done in previous years.
Muswellbrook Shire Council hosted activities from 10am to noon at Karoola Park, while Denman had an event at the recreation area between the cricket ground and golf course.
Singleton residents also joined in the fun by participating at Nowland Park, Gardiner Circuit.
After the work, volunteers were able to enjoy a free barbecue lunch.
Schools planted trees on Friday for Schools Tree Day.
