Mary Moses and Melanie O’Gorman are both entering runners in the cup.
Moses, who had a winner at last year’s opener with It’s A Shamozzle, admitted it would be difficult to claim another race this time around.
She will pin her hopes on the same horse again in the Country Cup - Benchmark 70 Handicap race on Friday.
“The nominations haven’t even closed yet so you have to wait and see what you’re up against,” she said.
“The Country Cup is always a very competitive race.
“But we’re here, it’s the home track and you’ve got to be in it to win it.”
Fellow trainer, O’Gorman, is competing in her first Scone Cup after only opening her stable in January.
O’Gorman said her best chance of success would come through Fill Me Up in the Class 1 Handicap.
“I’ve had a few winners locally already and I’ll have a couple of runners in the cup,” she said.
“It’s my first time at the Scone Cup as a trainer so I’m just happy to be a part of it.”
