A hat-trick from Scone fullback Tim Smith and a double to winger Joel Harrison guided the Hunter Valley outfit to a 38-18 win in their clash with Group 19.
However, a 38-14 loss to Group 4 earlier in the day left them empty-handed.
Despite failing to take away another title, several players’ impressive performances saw them gain selection in the Greater Northern Tigers’ squad.
In other results, the women’s league tag was claimed by Group 4.
They defeated Groups 21 and 19 by scores of 14-4 and 14-12.
Group 19 took out the under-18s through 22-10 and 26-22 victories, while Hunter Valley’s under-16s side picked up the title by winning both of their matches.
