Motorists are advised to exercise caution along the New England Highway and Pacific Highway around Hexham due to flooding.
Only one eastbound lane is open on the New England Highway approaching Hexham Bridge.
There is still water over the Pacific Highway at Hexham between Hexham Bridge and Tomago Road.
Elsewhere in the Hunter on Thursday evening:
- New England Highway is closed in both directions between Church Street and High Street at Maitland;
- Putty Road is closed near Inlet Road at Bulga;
- Cessnock Road is closed in both directions near Church Street at Abermain; and
- Main Road/Cessnock Road is closed in both directions at various locations between Maitland and Kurri Kurri;
Roads that have re-opened in the Muswellbrook local government area include:
- Edderton Road; and
- Hebden Road;
Roads that have re-opened in the Singleton local government area include:
- Lambs Valley Road Bridge - passable on one lane only, but caution is required;
- Glendonbrook Road - Webbers Creek - Boyce's Bridge;
- Herbert Bridge - Wollombi Brook - Broke;
- Carrowbrook Road to Lake St Clair;
- Bourkes Bridge on Glendon Lane; and
- Monkey Place.
