The Tigers went down 24-16 in a fast-paced season opener at Aberdeen, but Hoogerwerf said there were only minor issues to work on ahead of their upcoming clash with defending premiers Greta-Branxton.
“Scone are supposed to be the benchmark of the competition and we stuck it to them for 80 minutes,” he said.
“We didn’t get the win or the points but we’ve been working hard at training and there’s only some little things that we have to improve.
“A few silly penalties and dropped balls cost us against Scone, so we’ll be looking to fix that and sharpen up our attack a bit for the Greta game.”
The Tigers will face a fired-up Colts side for their first away trip of the season.
Greta-Branxton was comfortably beaten 36-18 by Singleton in its opening match and would be keen to get its title defnce back on track.
The game kicks off at 2pm on Sunday at Greta Central Oval.
