Bell Shakespeare is the only national touring theatre company in Australia, not only visiting capital cities, but also more than 20 regional areas.
This year is the 25th anniversary of the successful company, which explains Shakespeare in a way today’s students can understand.
“Our goal is that all audiences, including the youngest and most remote, are given the opportunity to experience the imagination and range of human emotions that are still relevant to students 400 years after the stories were written,” Bell Shakespeare artistic director Peter Evans said.
“It is only with the support of corporate partners such as BHP Billiton that we’re able to reach over 50,000 students each year in some of the most isolated locations in Australia.”
There were two secondary school performances of Midsummer Madness and Macbeth: Undone, both 50 minutes in length and followed by a 10-minute question time for students to ask about the Shakespeare content, or life as a paid actor.
