On Saturday, Upper Hunter residents will be required to vote along with their fellow NSW citizens for the 56th parliament.
The candidates in the race for the state seat of Upper Hunter are Louise Checchin (No Land Tax Party), John Kaye (Greens), Michael Johnsen (Nationals), Martin Rush (Labor), Richard Stretton (Christian Democratic Party) and Lee Watts (Independent).
This election will see 93 candidates elected for the Legislative Assembly, and 21 of the 42 seats in the Legislative Council contested.
An electoral redistribution occurred before this election, therefore electoral boundaries have changed.
The Upper Hunter electorate covers 27,687.50 square kilometres and includes the Local Government Areas, wholly or partially within district, of Dungog, Gloucester, Great Lakes, Liverpool Plains, Mid-Western, Muswellbrook, Singleton and Upper Hunter.
