Upper Hunter MP George Souris was delighted to give Deputy Leader of The Nationals in the Senate and Assistant Minister for Health Fiona Nash a tour of the newly-updated Muswellbrook hospital Emergency Department (ED).
Mrs Nash said it was a great facility.
“I’m always really impressed when I see results of hard work of local champions,” she said.
Mrs Nash was also visiting local business people in the mining and power industries and hearing about the challenges they face.
The Muswellbrook hospital project was jointly-funded by the NSW government ($4 million) and BHP Billiton ($2.5 million).
It was officially opened on Tuesday, February 17, and was considered a great example of what can happen when government and industry work together.
