English students exercised their verbal skills against the team from St Joseph’s Aberdeen.
A junior and a senior team from both schools participated in the event.
St Joseph’s Aberdeen student Piper Tye said she liked being a part of it.
“I enjoyed being able to [public] speak and argue with the other team,” she said.
Muswellbrook High School English teacher Samantha Wass said she considers public speaking an important skill.
“It’s about research and evidence and working together as a team,” she said.
“Thank you to Mr Turvey and Mrs Moore for adjudicating.”
The junior teams were Meg Rankin, Jade Cutrupi, Kate Rowlands and Fin McTaggart from Muswellbrook High School, and Macey Collins, Kate Lloyd, and Piper Tye from St Joseph’s, Aberdeen.
The senior teams were Riley Pereira, Liam Barnes, Stephen Davis and Owen McLoud from Muswellbrook High School, and Bella Fitzgerald, Nick Warburton, James Drayton, and Matt Sokulsky from St Joseph’s, Aberdeen.
