Devil Ark Visitor and Interpretive Centre, Hollydene Estate Cellar Door and Restaurant and Scone Motor Inn & Conference Centre will represent the region at the NSW Tourism Awards in Sydney on November 27.
President Trevor Kratzmann said this was further evidence of the Upper Hunter’s emergence as a destination in its own right.
“The Upper Hunter is stepping out of the shadow of the Lower Hunter and wine country,” Mr Kratzmann said.
“The Upper Hunter continues to develop new products and experiences, offering visitors to the region a unique rural experience.
“The Upper Hunter offers a variety of experiences not found anywhere else in the state, from world renowned horse studs, to world heritage national parks, food and wine, arts and heritage, and a full calendar of festivals and events.
“Upper Hunter Country Tourism wishes all our local finalists the best for the awards night.”
This will be Scone Motor Inn’s seventh straight year as finalists with three gold awards for standard accommodation from 2010-12, and entry into the NSW Tourism Awards Hall of Fame in 2012.
