The massive Prize organised in Murrurundi attracts artists from around Australia.
“The entries were forwarded to a selection panel for appraisal and scoring,” said Murrurundi Arts Council president Mandy Archibald.
From those 80 entries, 50 have been hung on the wall at the RSL for viewing by the public.
The judge, Phillip Adams AO, looked at the final works to select the overall winner who will surely be happy with their $15,000 prize money.
The Murrurundi Arts Council decided on the winner of the Unpackers Prize for $1,000.
“[The $15,000 was] generously donated by farmer and artist Peter Norvill of Murrurundi,” Mrs Archibald said.
“We extend an invitation to everyone to join us on Opening Night.
“At the end of the Exhibition the Macquarie Generation People's Choice Award for $3,000 will be announced.”
Opening night begins at 6.30pm, Friday, October 3, at the RSL Hall, Murrurundi; entry is $15 and includes drinks and supper.
The exhibition will be open from 10am and 4pm on the weekends between October 4 and 26.
