And, the 13-year-old dirt track rider has amassed some great results in recent times to prove it.
The Singleton High School student competes against boys and girls, contesting the 85cc/150cc big wheel 11-under-13 (male) and 85cc/150cc 11-under-16 (female) race classes.
It’s a massive effort for someone who only learnt to ride a clutch bike three years ago.
“Tia’s dad used to race,” her mum Rebecca Davis said.
“But, having three daughters, I don’t think he ever thought he’d see a race track again.
“He took Tia to a meeting and, after watching another young girl in action, she decided to give it a go.
“We bought her a bike for Christmas, when she was 10.
“A few months later, Tia started racing.
“She’s gone ahead leaps and bounds.”
In May, Davis achieved third place in the 85cc/150cc big wheel 11-under-13 (male) class at the NSW Long Track Titles at Tamworth.
“There were about 23 boys who she competed against, so her result was very pleasing,” her mum said.
“Then, earlier this month, we drove 22 hours for Tia to contest the Australian Junior Long Track Titles in Townsville.
“But, it was worth it.
“She is now the Australian junior long track titleholder for the female class after winning all her races.
“Tia also made it onto the podium in the 85cc/150cc big wheel 11-under-13 (male) class, capturing third place.
“She was the only person from NSW to come home with podium spots.
“We’d like to thank the two local companies that sponsor her.
“Port Tune Performance and Pro Moto Suspension, both based in Singleton, have both given Tia plenty of support.”
