About 11am on Sunday 20 July 2014, the owner of a home on Bailey Close, Hunterview, returned to find the garage roller door open.
He found a number of items were outside the door and on further investigation discovered that five firearms had been stolen.
Police were contacted and Hunter Valley Local Area Command attended.
An investigation was commenced and specialist forensic officers examined the scene.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed suspicious behaviour or has information about the incident to make contact with the authorities.
