Officers from the Hunter Valley Local Area Command will pick up the pigskin in the name of charity.
The Hunter Valley Broncos will next week take on the Oxley Cods to raise funds for the Alex McKinnon Foundation.
The annual face-off started last year, after some friendly banter between the Hunter Valley and Tamworth-based commands and the Charity Cup was born.
The local officers are looking to even the tally, having lost 28-8 in last year’s clash in Tamworth.
Support for the match has been positive, with a number of local businesses jumping at the opportunity be a part of the event.
There is always more to be covered, so if you are able to help out please contact Muswellbrook or Singleton police stations for more information.
There are also raffle tickets available at the stations, with a number of great prizes including a Crown Plaza accommodation and golf package, signed Newcastle Knights jersey and tickets, Lindeman’s Wines packages and Euphoria Hair and Beauty products up for grabs.
Hopefully, a home town advantage will serve the Hunter Valley LAC well, with next Wednesday’s game to be played in Singleton.
Kick-off is at 3pm, so why not head on down to the home of the Singleton Greyhounds and support the local boys in blue, before heading home to cheer for a clean sweep for the NSW Blues in 2014.
